Policies
The quality homes and cabins managed by TVR are located in quiet,
residential neighbourhoods. The property owners have made every effort
to ensure your comfort. We ask that you respect the privately owned
property you are staying in, and the quiet enjoyment of the adjoining
property owners, many of whom are full-time residents of Tofino.

New Year's: December 29 - January 1, 2007
Reservation: at the time of reservation, a deposit of 50% of your
accommodation cost and the full processing fee is charged. The balance
of the deposit is due and payable 30 days prior to your arrival and
will be charged to your credit card at that time unless otherwise instructed
by you. If you book within 30 days of your arrival, the full cost of
your stay is charged at the time of reservation.
Cancellation: There is a 30-day cancellation policy. If you cancel with
30 days notice or more, your deposit, less a $40 cancellation fee,
will be refunded to you. If you cancel with less than 30 days notice,
the entire cost of accommodation is forfeited.
A 60-day cancellation policy applies to the following properties between June 1 - September 30: Alaqua on the Beach, Brick House, Clayoquot Calm, Cloudbreak, Conifers, Casa Noga, Dream Cottage, Eagle View Vista, Jensen Bay Retreat/House, Steller's Jay Retreat, Osprey Beach House, Osprey Beach Suite, Tofino Chalet House, Tofino View House and Waves End.
Noise: In reference to the Tofino Noise Bylaw quite time is 10:00
pm through 8:00 am. If we receive a noise complaint from adjoining
property owners and/or neighbouring guests arising from undue and excessive
noise after 10:00 pm or before 8:00 am Tofino Vacation Rentals, Inc.
(TVR) may at its option charge you a $150 noise fine. TVR has a zero
tolerance for undue noise disturbances caused by guests outside of
quite time. Please respect the quiet enjoyment of your neighbours.
Excessive Wear and Tear: You are responsible for
any damage beyond normal wear and tear including carpet/floor stains,
interior wall damage,
appliance repairs arising from improper use, window and window covering
damage, permanent linen stains, dry cleaning costs associated with
stains, breakage, theft, and any other damage noted on your departure.
Lost Keys: You are required to return all sets of keys to the TVR
office at check-out. There will be a $15 charge per set of lost keys.
Pets: Pets are permitted only at pet friendly designated accommodations
as indicated on our website. Pets are required to be on leash pursuant
to the Tofino Leash Bylaw at all times when on beaches, trails, roads,
etc. Pets must not be left unattended at any time during your stay!
Excessive Cleaning: If additional housekeeping is
required above and beyond the normal time allotted for this accommodation
you will be
charged at an hourly rate of $20 per person for each additional hour
of housekeeping required. To avoid excessive cleaning fees please ensure
that:
- the dishwasher is loaded and turned on
- any remaining dishes ar thoroughly washed, dried and put away
- your garbage is disposed of (each property has an info sheet advising
guests where to dispose of their garbage)
Late Charges: Any late charges resulting from an
unscheduled late check-out (after 11:00 am) charged to TVR from the
cleaning companies TVR contracts with will be charged back to your
credit card.
Smoking: All properties are non-smoking. A $100 fine will apply should
you smoke inside the accommodation. You may smoke outside the accommodation
but are responsible for picking up all cigarette butts.
Permitted Occupants: You were advised at the time of reservation as
to the maximum number of occupants permitted at the accommodation.
If you arrive with more that the permitted number of occupants, we
reserve the right to cancel your reservation. In this regard the cost
of your accommodation will not be refunded.
Hot Tub: If you are staying at an accommodation that
has a hot tub, you will be provided with the Guide and Rules to
Happy Hot Tubbing ('Guide and Rules'). You agree to abide by the
Guide and Rules at all times. The hot tub is checked on your arrival
day and
your departure day, and it will be checked every 2nd day during your
stay. If the hot tub is required to be drained during your stay or
on your departure day due to misuse, or for any reason whereby TVR
feels the cleanliness of the hot tub is not up to standard for its
next check-in, you will be charged $100 which is the cost charged to
TVR to drain, clean and refill the hot tub. Further, you are responsible
for any damage to the hot tub including repair and/or damaged or missing
parts due to misuse as set out in your Guide and Rules.
Lost & Found: TVR is not responsible for any
personal items left behind on departure and will hold items for 2 weeks
after departure. A minimum
fee of $25 will be charged to your credit card if you wish to have
the items mailed to you or the specified recipient.
Limitation of Liability: TVR acts as a rental agent only in respect
of the accommodation described above. TVR will make every effort to
ensure that the accommodation is provided as described for the time
reserved, or to provide alternate equivalent accommodation. TVR cannot
guarantee that the accommodation will be available as reserved, as
there are matters beyond its control including loss of the accommodation
by fire, flood, earthquake, or other damage, changes in ownership,
changes in the law, or seizure or other loss of the accommodation property.
Beyond a refund of all payments made, TVR assumes no responsibility
or liability arising out of the accommodation not being available or
suitable.
Payments can be made by Visa, MasterCard, Canadian Money Order, Certified
Cheque or Cash. If paying by cash, a credit card number is required
to secure your reservation and damage deposit. If paying by cash, please
be sure to have exact amount of cash required as no money is kept on
premise to provide change.
