Chesterman Beach
The Wickaninnish Inn is located at the north end of Chesterman Beach,
one of the finest beaches on the west coast of Canada. A mile and a
half (2.4 km) of beautifully packed sand stretches south of the rocky
headlands that are the Inn's majestic setting.
The pounding surf makes this beach a favorite with beachcombers, surfers
and kayakers alike. A picnic in the dunes, a romantic stroll in time
for sunset or a night under the star-filled skies of Clayoquot Sound
- Chesterman Beach is an unforgettable experience.
Bald eagles and ospreys can often be seen circling the beach with many
species of migratory shorebirds also using Chesterman Beach as a resting
place during their travels. Tours by some of the naturalists that live
in the area can turn a walk on the beach into an amazing educational
experience. Contact our Guest Service
Representatives to book one of these tours in advance, to ensure
that your preferred time and day is confirmed.
Enjoy a front row view of Chesterman Beach at the Pointe
Restaurant: Enjoy a satisfying breakfast with the rising sun, a
light lunch with views of 20 foot breakers or join the many that have
declared the Pointe their favorite place for sunsets in Tofino, or perhaps
anywhere.
