2. How do I get to the Wickaninnish Inn?
The Wickaninnish Inn can be reached either by air, via regularly
scheduled flights from Vancouver and Seattle, or by car. The journey
by car begins on the east side of Vancouver Island from Nanaimo BC.
From Nanaimo, travel north on Highway 19 for 43km (26 miles) and take
Exit 60 onto Highway 4. Take Highway 4 west (also known as the Pacific
Rim Highway) for 156km (97 miles) through spectacular Cathedral Grove,
historic Port Alberni, and past the pristine shores of Sproat and
Kennedy Lakes.
Continue westward until you come to the junction between Tofino and
Ucluelet. Take a right turn towards Tofino, which will lead you north
through the Pacific Rim National Park. Continue all the way through
the Pacific Rim National Park past the Wickaninnish Centre
sign for approximately 28km (17 miles). Once you exit the park and
pass the Orca Lodge, make a left hand turn onto Lynn Road. Approximately
800 feet down Lynn road, take the right fork onto Osprey Lane, which
will take you directly to the Wickaninnish Inn, the Pointe Restaurant
and the Ancient Cedars Spa.
3. What airlines fly into Tofino?
Regency/North Vancouver Air, which is based out of the South Terminal
at the Vancouver International Airport, does regularly scheduled
flights
from Vancouver. Limited flights are available from Victoria and Seattle.

5. What is the range in temperature in Tofino?
The temperature in Tofino ranges approximately between 0-25 degrees
Celsius or approximately 30-80 degrees Fahrenheit. Tofino has the
greatest "mean" temperature in Canada, which means our temperature
changes less here than anywhere else in Canada.
6. What is the average temperature of the Pacific Ocean in Tofino?
The average water temperature is approximately 7-11 degrees Celsius
or approximately 44-52 degrees Fahrenheit.

7. How far are you from Tofino?
The Wickaninnish Inn is located approximately 4km from Tofino, which
is about a 7-minute drive or a 1-hour walk.
8. What is the difference between your room types?
All of our rooms do offer ocean and beach views, gas fireplaces
and private balconies.
The deluxe rooms are our standard room type, which are approximately
420 square feet in size for a deluxe room with 1 king bed, and 450
square feet for a room with 1 queen bed and 1 sofa bed or 2 queen
size beds.
Our premier rooms are corner units, therefore offering a two-directional
view.
9. What is the dress code of the
Pointe Restaurant
and are advanced reservations required?
The Pointe Restaurant is available for breakfast, lunch and
dinner. Advanced reservations are required for dinner only. The dress
code is casual elegance. Jackets and ties are not required.
10. How do you pronounce the name of the Inn
and where did the name come from?
The Wickaninnish Inn is pronounced Wick-an-inn-ish
Inn. The Inn's name comes from Chief Wickaninnish, who was arguably
the most powerful chief on the west coast of Vancouver Island at the
time of European contact in the late 1700's. His former summer home
on the Island of Echachis is visible from the Pointe Restaurant and
our west facing rooms between Tonquin Island and Wickaninnish Island.
